Our current activities for arts centres

Creative Enterprise

Since December 2024, we have been hosting a series of online talks for all FAC members, with invited guests – often from beyond the arts sector – considering ‘if you were running an arts centre, what would you do?’

Capital

Arts centres across the UK are grappling with the realities of ageing buildings — from essential repairs and accessibility upgrades to ambitions around expansion, sustainability, and creating more welcoming spaces. Future Arts Centres is helping to support members to meet these challenges, combining the strength of peer learning with the insights of sector specialists.

Training and leadership development

Future Arts Centres is not a training organisation — but we do convene events and sessions that respond directly to the needs of our members. Our focus is always on the real-world challenges faced by arts centre leaders, creating spaces to share knowledge and explore solutions together.

Research

Future Arts Centres is committed to building the evidence base for the vital role arts centres play in the UK’s cultural and civic life. Our research shines a light on the distinctiveness of arts centres, the communities they reach, and the often-hidden social, cultural, and economic impact they generate.
