National Future Arts Centres meetings

As well as connecting arts centres via an online peer support forum, Future Arts Centres also provides opportunities for arts centre CEOs to come together to explore opportunities and challenges. Previous meetings have seen 50+ CEOs gather for a day of networking and discussions, which have informed Future Arts Centres activity to date.

In 2019 the meeting focussed on how arts centres could work internationally, celebrating the culmination of our Global-Vision programme. More than 50 people attended, with members representing a range of centres – small and large, rural and urban. Following an introduction along with short films about the benefits of working internationally, commissioned from our international partners, attendees had the chance to take part in a number of different breakout sessions. Panellists included network representatives, funders, artists and arts centre leaders, which led to lively discussions about destinations, resources and models of working. As part of the legacy of the project, two bursaries of £1,000 each were awarded to members at the event, to seed fund their international ambitions.
